Religious practice

How religious one is, might be hard to quantify. On most days, I would miss my Fajr prayers and would make it up later. More recently I have been exploring DuaÂ’s by our ImamÂ’s and find some level of peace. I am trying to improve my faith in Allah. Sometimes I struggle having absolute faith that whatever is happening in life is for the best.

My partner preferences

I am looking for someone who is kind and compassionate. I personally donÂ’t believe in living a luxurious lifestyle. I like to think we should limit our expenses and help people around us. It would be nice if you feel the same way. I am close to family as well as extended family. I spends a lot of weekends with cousins. Alhamdurillah I am blessed with a lot of family in the bay. It will be nice if you are close to family as well and work to maintain a good relationship with them. It will be nice if you have quantifiable career goals and passionate about them. I am currently working as hardware engineer manager at a startup company called zGlue. I like to think we can change the way, consumer devices are designed. I do believe both husband and wife have to work hard to make a relationship work and they have their roles to play to raise a family. Having spent the last 12 years on my own, I am used to taking care of myself (cooking, cleaning etc) and I think house chores should be shared between the couple.

I moved to United States when I was 18. I did my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from SJSU and currently working for a Startup in Mountain View, CA. I am passionate about what I do and try to keep myself updated with industry trends. Some of my products I supported got designed in Samsung Galaxy Phone's and Amazon Products. I like to think I am kind, thoughtful,reflect a lot on life and also an introvert. I like to read on history and biographies. I think that is what got me interested in reading Quran as well. Besides a book on guidance, it is also a book that talks about past civilization. I only read the translation. Some negative traits could be that I can be pretty stubborn sometimes. I do smoke and I am trying to cut it down. But I am not into any drugs or alcohol. I have also been told, I should try to be more patient. I belong to a moderate family. Almost all women in my immediate and extended family practices Hijab. I would like to have a partner that practices it too. Inshallah one day when I have a daughter, it will be her choice, but would prefer or at least provide the atmosphere that she is comfortable practicing it. I like the idea of involving a licensed premarital counselor (besides family). Marriage is a big step and I think it can help to get a professionals help who does counseling for a living. I am the oldest of the 3 siblings and the only son. My parents live in South East US and once they retire, they plan on moving in with me.
