Religious practice

I practice religion moderately. I only eat Halal. I offer daily prayers regularly and also perform aamal of specific months (for instance, aamal on the night of Ashura, aamal on Laylat al-Qadr during Ramadan, etc.). I observe fasts during Ramadan. In addition, I recite Ziarat-e-Ashura every day when concluding my Maghriban prayers. I attend Majalis and other religious events – I really admire Talib Johri. I have also recently begun to recite Nohas in Majalis. I have been to Makkah for Umrah and to Madinah for Ziarat. I would expect from a potential partner to be observable of at least the basic principles of the religion like prayer and fasting. I do not have any preference for hijab. I think it is up to the person who is actually going to or not going to wear it. For me it is more important to feel confident in the way someone dresses up.

My partner preferences

I am looking for someone who enjoys everyday of life. Some who is honest, amiable and respectful. Someone who wants to share responsibilities. Wants to share kitchen (I make scrumptious biryani). Someone who has a love for humanity. Someone who has a hobby. Someone who would want to travel to religious places together (like Karbala, Makkah, Madina, etc.). Someone who would like to travel sometimes and discover places (I like to travel but I am not a good planner when it comes to travelling and I always end up being too tired afterwards and hope against hope that I could have some more time off work to relax). I have visited Switzerland, France, Belgium, Saudi Arabia and various cities in the UK and Luxembourg. Someone who has a goal in life, and this goal could be anything for example, wanting to excel in the chosen profession. Or gain more knowledge through the continuation of studies or pursuing any other interest in life. Also, someone who is talkative and could indulge in a good conversation. I believe that parents are one of the most beautiful blessings from Allah and therefore, I would want someone who would show love and kindness towards my parents as I would do the same.

More about me

I am a simple person. I do not like to complicate things, instead I like to keep everything as simple as I can. I am also honest and do not like people who lie or try to gain advantage by deceiving others. As far as my personality type is concerned, I think I am both expressive as well as amiable (I could speak my heart out but at the same time think before I speak in an effort to prevent saying something that might hurt someoneÂ’s feelings). I belong to an educated Zaidi family and my parents have always encouraged me and my siblings to obtain the best possible education that we could. I did my MSc from one of the renowned universities in the UK. I have also obtained ACCA which is a professional Accountancy qualification. I like to cook, however, I could only get time to do so on the weekends. I like music and some of my favourite singers are Adele, Linkin Park (music never gets old, people do), Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, and Atif Aslam. Although I am an Accountant by profession and have been studying Accounting since O levels, I have this weird interest in Astronomy since forever. I have watched zillions of documentaries on galaxies, their formation, planets, black holes, wormholes, EinsteinÂ’s String Theory (although I am never quite able to understand it), supernova, quasar, (I could go on and on), etc.. Perhaps that is why I am a huge fan of DC and Marvel universes. But on a serious note, the vastness of the Universe makes me appreciate the Maker of it and our last Prophet (pbuh) for whom it is made. It is absolutely astounding. Apart from the above, I like Cricket and enjoy watching it. I do not watch all the games but just the important ones like the world cup. I play badminton once a week and I am really good at it (or at least I would like to think that :p ). I also try to hit the gym sometimes. I think that the most important building blocks of a good relationship are trust and mutual respect. I care about people close to me which include my family and friends. And I think this is true as I have been told that I am someone who cares a lot about friends and family.
