Religious practice

I observe all the major requirements like fasting, praying, eating halal. I would like someone with a solid Shia foundation that is trying her best (as am I) and is open minded. I think its important to actively research/think about one's deen, rather than just thinking of it as cold hard rules. I dislike cultural norms/expectations that have no basis in religion that just makes peoples lives unnecessarily difficult.

My partner preferences

I want someone who would be my best friend and life partner. To have the best in this life and the next. She should have strong family and Islamic values. I want her to be ambitious and use her education/career to make a difference in the world. I want a best friend, someone to laugh with and do many things with each other and for each other. I would like someone who is trying to improve her self. Someone who takes care of her health, both physical and mental. Someone who would push and support me to be my best and I do the same for her. I want someone who, despite aspiring for better in life, is patient and can appreciate and be grateful for what she has in life. I want someone who is kind, intelligent, affectionate, understanding, and supportive. I want someone with a good sense of humor so we can have a relationship filled with laughter. With that said, I want someone who is independent, trustworthy and responsible and can be serious when the time comes. I am an independent person (since I was a child) and cook and clean for myself. So, I want the same from my wife as she is an adult not because I expect her to do it because "its the wife's job". (Though, I would like that we cook together/for each other.) I want someone who has good emotional intelligence and communication skills. When problems arise they shouldn't fester or result in insults or drama, instead we discuss them in-depth and do our best to confront them together. Additionally, I want a mature person who can admit fault and accept criticism and not take it as a personal attack.

More about me

I was always interested in the 'self' psychologically and philosophically, and so I always think why I am the way I am and why I do what I do (and the same for others). This sparked an early love for self improvement and development. I love reading and researching ways to improve my life. It also made me more compassionate and less judging of other people, we are all just trying to do our best and we are a sum of our experiences and environments. Though that doesn't mean I agree with everyone's actions nor condone not self-reflecting. (I am an INTJ) I love to investigate and debate new ideas and things. I don't like it when people can't calmly confront or discuss with people with opposing views. I am more than happy to acknowledge I am wrong in light of reason and evidence. With this in mind, I really dislike any form of intellectual or emotional manipulation. I am ambitious and have always aimed high. I want to make a difference in the world. I am not content if I am not progressing on my major or minor goals, I don't like stagnation. I spend my free time developing myself or my interests as well as trying to learn how to just enjoy it. I like to read, watch TV/movies, listen to podcasts/debates/talks, lists/logs (if you're a log person you will know what I mean) and sports. I am into fitness and taking care of myself. I go to the gym for weightlifting as well as cardio/running. I take classes for martial arts. I take marriage seriously and will invest my time and effort to continuously maintain it. I am loyal and devoted and expect the same. I am a good listener and would enjoy being there for my wife. I believe love is not simply something you feel but also an action, one form is the persistent little things that shows that the other person thinks about you as much as they think about themselves.
