Religious practice

My Level of Religious Practice: One of the difficulties I've had in obtaining marriage so far has been because I grew up in the USA and by American standards, I am excessively religious; but by standards back home, I'm insufficiently religious. Although I believe fully in Islam, my practice is moderate. For example, according to strict scholars, we are not supposed to touch dogs; but I feel an emotional connection with dogs and I pet them. Later on I wash my hands. In another example, according to strict scholars, we are not supposed to eat food that contacted pork. I don't eat pork; but if I'm at someone's house and they give me pizza with pork on it, I simply remove the pork and set it aside. I don't want to offend them by suggesting or implying that their food is not good enough for me. For a long time, I would defend Islam on the internet and defend our prophet Muhammad, pbuh. I was very good at it. My arguments in favor of Islam were better than those of any other people I had seen. When I read the Quran in English translation, I feel an intense joy. I derive a pleasure in finding miracles in the Quran. I would like to find a wife who enjoys being a Muslim, but also enjoys other aspects of life also. She should be more interested in the spirit of Islam than the minute regulations. I want to be happy in life; and Islam is the biggest part of that happiness for me; but it is not the only part. While I do love my religion as the best path towards God's approval, I also try to enjoy the permissible aspects of this life in an ethical way; and while I do allow myself to enjoy this life, I also try to maintain the requirements set by God. I want to achieve a level of Islamic practice where I perform my actions more out of love for God and gratefulness towards God rather than out of fear of reprisal. I believe that being married is the next step in that spiritual path.

Preferences I am Seeking: In addition to Islam, there are other attributes in a wife that I seek: Communication is very important to me. I would like to spend my life with a woman who is able to communicate with depth and detail. I've grown up in the USA. English is the language with which I am most familiar. I would like to marry a woman who also speaks English fluently. Although I disagree with many aspects of American culture, it is nevertheless the culture with which I am most accustomed and familiar. I would like to marry a woman who is also accustomed to American culture, even if like me, she does not agree with all of it.

Why I Would Be A Good Marriage Partner: I would try to put my wife's needs above my own as often as I am able. In my view, my wife is not there to be my new mother; she's not there to serve me. Rather, we're there to comfort each other. Sometimes, I need to sacrifice what I want for what she wants.
