Religious practice

I converted 4 years ago from a strict Christian faith...I am now a practicing Muslimah, I pray 5 times a day I attend Jumah prayers regularly, I fast, I attend all 30 days of Ramadan in Masjed I attend 10 days Of Muharram, I commemorate Birth and Death anniversaries in the Masjed I give Zakat.I wear Hijab Always. I volunteer time in community service thru CAIR. I am active inside my Masjed. I have visited the shrines and tombs of Ahlul-bayt. I hope to do Umrah and HAjj soon InshaAllah with my spouse. I hope to visit Karbala and I would like to walk from Najif or Basra many times in the future... InshaAllah. I hope to use time home and funds to benefit, serve, and facilitate others. I am very passionate in my deenand am seeking a partner the same.

My partner preferences

I am looking for a practicing Muslim that Puts Allah first and is living for the hereafter. I would hope he is active in service at the Masjed and is regular for attendance. I expect that He would accompany me to Hajj InshaAllah I hope he enjoys lectures and reading and increasing our knowledge . I am looking for someone who wants to give back to the community thru service and volunteering. It seems silly to list all that i would expect him to be....I will just ask that he follow examples of Ahlul-bayt, and what more could I ask.?

More about me

I was a strong Christian all my life, but somehow I felt like something never quite fit As a child I was the one expressing doubts and asking too many questions . In my university years I tried to explore other religions. I married and raised my 6 children in Christian faith. I lost two of my children... and in the mourning... my marriage ended. I was active in my Church and taught Bible classes I found some things difficult to teach as I did not myself believe. One day I bought a Quran, I started reading and my eyes filled with tears I felt I had been a Muslim all my life but had not been practicing, I learned to pray from the internet eventually I sought out a Mosque and began attending Jumah now I rarely miss. I have been divorced for 18 years, My children are all grown and in Universities. I am very healthy and Happy I am athletic and enjoy sports. I am very artistic and creative. I love to travel. I consider myself educated but I still love to learn. I like to cook and rarely eat outside my home. I like plants gardening and landscaping. I do not watch television i think it is mostly a waste of time. I prefer documentaries lectures and reading. I like to take care of my family my home and myself. I enjoy hosting others for gatherings I am social and enjoy being involved at the Masjed. After my divorce I felt I would never try again,I felt my children were all I needed. After finding Islam, and listening to a lecture, Like A Garment, I found myself interested in finding a life partner and believing the next 20 years could be the best. With my children all living outside my home, I have time and opportunity to live my life for myself for the first time in 20 years and I hope to put at the center, a spouse, InshaAllah.
