Religious practice

I take my religion seriously, I study it, I ponder about it and I put it in practice. I believe in 12 Imams (pbht) and I impatiently await the return (zohur) of Imam Mahdi (ajal'Allah ta'ala farajaho sharief). I was born into a Shia family, however, not only didn't they make it easy for me to practice my religion, I've had to battle my way to true Shia Islam and to be able to practice it. So I can be considered a half convert to Shia Islam. I've researched and studied it and that led me to practicing my religion despite the difficulties I was given from my family and the society. This process only made me stronger in heart, it humbled me, it made me wiser and more mature, it made me build strong character. So I am less and less influenced by the society and what it tries to impose on me, be it direct and obvious or indirect and subtle. I pray 5 times a day, I fast in Ramadan and other times, and I always wear head scarf now, since I reverted to true Shia. By no means do I believe that I'm perfect, I am always in the process of making my faith stronger and richer. My thirst for Shia is never ending, the more I read about it the more thirsty I become. I don't play board games and I don't listen to musics. Through my Shia studies I've come to a clear and full understanding as to why these acts are haram in Shia, and I can't even bring myself to like these acts anymore. Cutting haram acts out of your life and taking care of vajibat and mustahabat, make you feel free and light and makes you find true happiness, you won't feel down, depressed or anxious anymore, these feelings all come from haram acts. _______________________________

My partner preferences

I have one criteria which encompasses everything: Being a true, knowledgeable, practicing, ever-improving Shia Muslim. Goes without saying that finding one another attractive is important too. *** I have a very special and high respect for brothers who have *converted* to Shia Islam. Or at least those who go beyond the norm and question things and come to a deeper understanding of their faith. Those who can separate culture from religion. _______________________________

More about me

I'm blessed to have found and practiced the Shia path. It has made me a wiser person. I am kind and humble, I'm resilient to the difficulties of life. Besides my seriousness in religious matters, I have a good sense of humour, I am easy-going, I can be very funny and fun to be with. I have always been healthy and fit. I used to do gymnastics up until a few years ago and was in the school's and university's basketball team. I still keep active and a healthy balanced life-style. I don't stress out about it like the way the society does, and don't like the arrogance that comes with this modern idea of being fit. Shia Islam gives a perfect and full guideline for being healthy, Islamic medicine doesn't leave anything out, I follow the teaching of hadith on this matter. I don't wear make-ups, I only use natural soorme in my eyes, which is advised in the hadith. I'm all for natural beauty, Shia Islam puts importance on beauty and appearance and again I follow the teaching of hadith on this matter too. I enjoy cooking and baking, and love doing DIY around my flat. I'm an ex-architect (I did an honour degree in architecture before switching to biomedical engineering) so I know a thing or two when it comes to DIY, anything from designing to getting my tools out and being hands-on. I am very creative and like the challenge of making what I need with my own hands and out of cheap material. I don't like this consumer lifestyle that has become the norm in society. "our prophet (salavat-ol Allah ahaihe) used to fix his own shoes" I love going to nature, camping and going for adventures. _______________________________
