Religious practice

I observe my religious obligations (prayer, fasting, halal food, and so forth). This does not mean, however, that one must pray all day long. I pray, eat, joke and have fun, and I try to work hard in life. It is entirely possible to live a fun and fulfilling life while not being ignorant of one's religious obligations, such as being kind to one's parents and similar. My religious expectations for my spouse can be summed up as such: someone who knows how to enjoy themselves, but can do so without ignoring the very basic principles of our faith.

My partner preferences

Looking for someone who has an enthusiastic sense of humor, self-confidence, a great personality, patience, and someone who will be a devoted partner in the journey of life. I would love to marry someone who is capable of intellectual conversation! I prefer to find a match who was born here in the United States (as I was) or Canada and is familiar with American culture and upbringing. For example, my ideal match knows how to observe modest attire, but in a way that conforms to our western culture. I wouldn't want my wife to wear traditional clothes to the mall or when going out in general. I feel that traditional clothes are suited for traditional functions, such as going to a program at someoneÂ’s house (of our same culture) and of course Islamic attire is a must at the Masjid. I also feel that there are many creative ways Muslim women can observe hijab in the west, and I am open to all such ways. I am seeking someone who will be kind to my parents and cherish them and I wish to find a spouse who likes to go to the Masjid for Majalis and programs throughout the year. I was raised attending Majlis of Imam Hussain (as) and going frequently to our centers, so I wish to find someone who values this as well.

More about me

From a physical aspect, I am 5’7”, have a medium build with a light/fair complexion. I’m a very easy person to get along with. I like humor and good conversation. I often end up listening to others more than talking myself, but that’s because I like hearing what others have to say. I’m also a very positive person with an exceptionally, ridiculously, high level of tolerance and patience. I rarely get angry or mad and I don’t like these emotions. I prefer to maintain a genuinely delightful appearance and strive to bring happiness into any room I enter. I find it difficult to be happy while those around me are sad, so I am always trying to cheer people up! Many of these traits and morals are those I have observed demonstrated, in our Islamic literature, by our Imams (as) and I strive to follow in their example. I think I’d be an excellent marriage partner because I am looking for a lifelong companion and friend. My vision of marriage is one where a spouse is someone who you never get tired of talking to, whose presence brings joy to your eyes and whose absence is unbearable.
