Religious practice

I am moderately religious. I make an effort to pray namaz (I do pray every day, though I do sometimes miss prayers because I'm delayed from work) and I fast in Ramadan. I only eat halal food and do not consume alcohol and or drugs. That being said, I have many friends who are not Muslim, and many of them do consume alcohol. I do socialize with them even when they are drinking, and their choice to consume does not stop me from being around them.

My partner preferences

I enjoy going to the masjid, but I don't go every weekend. I'd like someone who likes to go with me to the masjid on a regular basis. I would expect you to also be religiously tolerant - I don't exclusively go to shia masjids and gatherings - I find there's much to be learned from the various flavors of sunni knowledge, except when it disagrees with core Shia religious thought.

References or qualities I'm seeking You need to be passionate about something, but you also need to be pragmatic about your causes and the methods it takes to achieve the goals of your passion. I have a strong background in competitive debate, and that has lead me to be very research oriented when I need to make a difficult decision. likes/dislikes, personality types, etc. I would prefer someone who appreciates bad puns, as I do, and is capable of laughing at themselves. I would also enjoy being with someone who appreciates alone time and time to reflect. I think that time apart is a necessary part of any relationship, as it allows for the possibility of creative development outside that of your partner.
