Religious practice

As a Mumin, my faith is greatly important to me. I am a stronger believer in Imam Ali's (AS) philosophy that the worship of one who fears Allah (SWT) is that of a servant, the worship of one who wants gain from Allah (SWT) is that of a businessman and the worship of one who worships Allah (SWT) for the sake of worshiping Allah (SWT) is that of a free man. It is under this concept that I perform my daily salaats and, through doing so, find great inner peace and connection to Allah (SWT). I am greatly interested in studying Islamic wisdom and philosophy as that helps me to deepen my faith. Spirituality and a deep understanding of the self is a passion that fuels me and the concept of Nafs-al-mutmainnah is what I strive towards. I'm a strong believer that someone's faith is between them and Allah (SWT). Therefore, I do not have many preconceptions of my partner's level of religiousness, as I believe that religion is merely the doorway into the home of spirituality and akhlaaq is the greatest quality any mumina can have. I look forward to spending my life going deeper into the spirituality of our faith and would love a partner to do so with, in sha Allah!

I love life. Every day is a gift and every day is a chance to make myself a better Mumin and a person, so that I can please Allah (SWT). I am a businessman and for me, the greatest reward is knowing that I am of service and that my employees can go to sleep at night knowing that their jobs are secure. I love to travel and have been blessed to go to many amazing places this year! My business allows me total geographic freedom and I'm looking forward to doing a lot of travelling in the future and am looking for one adventure seeking mumina to be my globe trotting partner. I love animals - horses, cats, fish, monkeys and parrots - specifically. I love being in nature, walking through rainforests, being on the beach close to the ocean, hiking up a mountain for the stunning view at the summit etc - I'd love someone who also loves to explore this beautiful world that Allah (SWT) has created. I love reading (everything from personal development books to classics, from the Metaphysical poetry of John Donne to the delightful fables of Aesop. My favourite book (non-Islamic) is Sophie's World and I can't wait to share my thoughts on life with the person I get to spend the rest of my life with. As you can tell from my profile so far, I love to write as well! I'm a poet and a philosopher and I need to write as much as I need to eat. Every Friday I send out an Islamic Meditation about a key event, topic, ayat of the Quran Majid or a concept in Islam, the beauty in the wisdom in our faith is something that I cannot help but share and that is my small contribution to the legacy of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) whom I love so much. Before you ask, I often cry at the end of Rom-Coms, I loved Love Actually and, in sha Allah, I'm soon to find the Queen of my Heart.
