Religious practice

I am not a religious person. My level of religiosity is minimal. I donÂ’t pray, and I donÂ’t fast. It is important for me to be a value driven individual who believes in the essence of the message of Islam, rather than the ritualistic following of the faith. For me being a believer of the true egalitarian nature of the imams, their philosophy of love and equality for all is far more important than eating a meal that might be not totally kosher. I am a feminist at heart; a value derived from being the eldest son of a mother who is intellectual, progressive and into the arts. It is important therefore for me to find a partner who isn't a crazy religious fanatic type. While I respect your value system to wear hijab and beat yourself up,I won't participate in rituals of that nature, I am not of the same ilk and therefore would probably not be the right match for you. Simply put, I am a liberal minded leftist.

My partner preferences

I am preferably seeking someone with a graduate degree from the United States or the west. Educated, articulate, intellectually self-aware and motivated. It is important that you have a career of your own, even if you don't have to work for financial reasons. For me, being a professional expands your horizons and establishes you as your own individual in society vs. being looked at through the prism of your significant other as the definition of your identity. Therefore it is a must for me, that my partner is liberal and a professional. I might be coming across as being snooty, I just don't have much in common with someone who isn't into the arts, or well read for that matter and so it creates a difficult situation leading to incompatibility. Also if you have children, that is perfectly fine with me. I am at a point in my life where I don't want to have any, sorry if this is a deal breaker but at 41, that ship has sailed; not averse to the idea but it maybe a bit late for me.

More about me

I am a working professional; divorced previously. I do have a deep, sarcastic sense of humor and can be politically incorrect at times.....well at most times outside of work. I am an activist and a rebel. A liberal protesting at all the crazy right wing propaganda in the social spectrum in this country. ..... take a hint... be politically active and liberal....If you define yourself as a girl first and then a feminist ....we might not be the right match. I am an extremely positive and a highly motivated individual. Driven by a deep desire to succeed in my career I have always worked very diligently in achieving my goals. I love to attend social networking and professional events. I have an extra busy work schedule and yes I have done well in my career; I hope that isn't the reason for my partner to like me. If you would like to get to know me more professionally we can connect on LinkedIn. I manage a group here in the Seattle area for my own startup and have quite a bit of travel involved as I am in consulting, so it is important that my partner has her own career/life so she doesn't think I am the only person in the world for her to spiritually and intellectually grow with. In my opinion, we need a set of diverse interactions and relationships to grow spiritually and wholly and thus this western myopic constant defining that my partner is the be all end all of all relationships isn't something I agree with. A derivative of that statement therefore is that we must have multiple social dynamically satisfying relations. Family, siblings, cousins, friends, work acquaintances to name a few should be part of one's life ! Last but not least, I am seeking someone who is at least 33+, I am going to be 42 soon, so please don't contact me if you are in your 20s and have some sort of daddy complex.
